Ferhalefjoer - place for stories'
Three evenings in the museum garden
'Ferhalefjoer - place for stories' is an initiative by storytellers Frank Belt, Baukje Koolhaas, and Ingrid Halfhide. They were inspired by the centuries-old Jewish storytelling tradition of the Drut'syla's, female storytellers who passed down their stories from grandmother to granddaughter. Every evening, people gathered at the storyteller's home, listened to her stories, and in doing so, struck up conversations with one another. Ferhalefjoer aims to be such a place of connection and encounter in Harlingen as well.
Ferhalefjoer started at Brouwdok in October 2025. Every first Thursday of the month, story lovers gathered there to listen or to tell stories themselves. Now that summer is approaching, Baukje, Ingrid, and Frank are eager to light the story fire outdoors. There is no more beautiful place for this in Harlingen than the garden of the Hannemahuis.
Thursday, May 7, June 4, and July 2
The next evening to join Ferhalefjoer in the Hannemahuis garden is on June 4. It starts at 7:30 PM each time and lasts about an hour. Entrance is via the front door of the Hannemahuis, Voorstraat 56, Harlingen. In case of bad weather, it will take place indoors.
Coffee and tea will be provided. Admission is free, but a voluntary contribution is welcome.
