What else is there?

Surprising things

In addition to the specially mentioned parts of the collection, the museum also pays attention to the development of the city. This is done both digitally and with beautiful painted cityscapes and city maps that provide a good picture of Harlingen in the past.

The front room of the Hannemahuis features a wallpaper painting created by A.J. Oostendorp, who used it to cover the walls of a maritime merchant's house around 1800.

A very special miniature house, scale 1:4, displays the interiors of houses around the Zuiderzee between 1650 and 1900. A crowd favorite where you discover something new every time.

Behind the museum lies a beautiful courtyard containing the most beautiful tree in Harlingen: a copper beech. In the spring, the stinsenflora blooms, a variety of plants found around the country houses in Friesland. During the summer months, sculptures by contemporary artists are on display.
